The One-Minute Reset
A gentle recovery tool for you and your dog.
Something just happened on the walk. Or maybe you can feel it building.
This is for that moment.
Choose how you want to be guided through it right now.
Let Sian guide you.
Your dog is beside you. You are both okay. Just press play.
Once the situation has passed and it is safe to do so, just stop walking.
Do not rush toward the next thing. Do not try to do any training. Do not get your phone out.
Just stop, right where you are, and let the movement stop.
Guide your dog gently toward a patch of grass, a hedge line, anywhere they can put their nose down.
You don't need to cue it. Just move toward it and let them follow.
Sniffing is how dogs regulate. It activates the part of their brain that helps them feel grounded and safe. Let them lead this moment completely.
While your dog sniffs, focus entirely on your breath. The longer out-breath is what matters. It tells your nervous system the threat has passed.
Tap below to begin. Three rounds, then we continue.
No phone. No internal rant. No replaying what just happened.
Just watch your dog sniffing. Notice what they're finding interesting. Let them lead the moment.
Being present here does two things. It stops the spiral from building in your own head, and it shows your dog that you are calm and available.
After about a minute, check in with yourself. Notice how your body is feeling compared to sixty seconds ago.
Notice how your dog is moving. Are they a little softer? A little slower?
You are not looking for perfect calm. You are looking for enough.
You didn't fix everything. You weren't supposed to.
You gave you both a moment to come back to yourselves.
That's the whole point of this.
