The Mindful Dog Parent Podcast
For overwhelmed dog parents who love their dogs, but find the whole thing harder than they expected.
The guilt. The dread. The feeling that everyone else has it figured out and you don't.
If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
Does this sound like you?
You love your dog deeply, but some days that love comes wrapped in guilt and frustration.
You've tried the training advice. Something still feels off.
You dread walks. You replay difficult moments. You wonder if it's all your fault.
You know something deeper is going on, you just don't have the words for it yet.
You're not failing. You're carrying too much.
And this podcast was made for you.
WHAT THIS PODCAST IS
This isn't a dog training advice podcast.
It's something deeper.
Each episode works across the three things that actually change the experience of dog parenting: your emotions, your nervous system, and your mindset. Because all three are intertwined, and most training advice ignores all of them.
Hosted by Sian Lawley-Rudd, dog behaviour expert and creator of Nervous-System Aware Dog Parenting™, The Mindful Dog Parent helps you understand what's actually happening between you and your dog, and gives you real tools to help make things feel better.
Not perfect. Better.
What you'll find inside:
🌿 Honest conversations about dog parent guilt, shame, burnout, and dread
🌿 The nervous system science behind why you and your dog wind each other up
🌿 Mindset shifts that change how you see yourself and your dog
🌿 Practical tools you can use on today's walk, not just in perfect conditions
🌿 A pathway toward genuine calm and connection with your dog
New episodes every Tuesday.
ABOUT SIAN
Hey, I'm Sian
I'm a dog behaviour expert, ethical trainer, and the person behind Nervous-System Aware Dog Parenting™.
I created this podcast because when Bonnie's reactivity was at its worst, I was carrying everything, the guilt, the shame, the exhaustion, the feeling that I wasn't the person she needed. Nobody was talking about that side of it. The emotional weight of being a dog parent when it's not going the way you hoped.
So I started talking about it.
I'm not just a professional here. I'm also a dog mum who's been where you are. And I know how much lighter things can get when someone finally names what you're feeling, and shows you what to do about it.
That's what this podcast is for.
